The Boy who Fancied Being PM is now an Estate Agent
A story that mad eme laugh and so I felt I would share the humour on what must have been, for BBC Wales, a very "slow news day"
The 16 year old who opened the 1999 Tory Party Conference, and was tipped to be a future William Hague (and listening to his voice on video he sure as hell sounds like Hague did twenty years ago) , has abandoned any idea of political ambition and gone into busines as ...... an estate agent (!) Story and video to go with it here. Do click and have a laugh.
Remember the name "Robert Reed, you heard it here first" were the words of a Tory Grandee who took the platform after 16 year old Robert Reed opened the Tory Conference of 1999 with a joke about the Third Way. Reed's five minutes of fame got him airtime on Have I Got News For You where the not yet disgraced Angus Deaton said "So you want to be Tory Leader then", awaited the affirmative nod and went in for the kill with "So you donlt fancy the job of Prime Minister".
Ah such heady days when Tone's Cool Brittania was thought eht height of fashion. Reed reveals he has abandoned political ambition and is now happy in his lot as an estate agent. But DO click on the link and listen to his voice. He sounds uncannily like William Hague, so much so it is disturbing. One cannot help looking for the cloning equipment.
