Despite setbacks, some of their own creating, the British National Party has made a steady advance over the past few years, culminating in the impressive votes and two seats won in the June EU elections. The establishment has been rightly worried and sought ways to derail the ongoing process. The predictable opposition of the left and guilt ridden liberals has so far failed, although it would be disingenuous to say Searchlight's relentless campaigns have not had an impact, if only to temporarily stem the growth in support.

The establishment does of course embrace the Tories and vested monied interests and so far their opposition to the BNP has been more of the dismissive sneering type, the sort of look they would give to someone who hasn't got the right social etiquette at a cocktail party. They have no time for the left, although despite their slavish devotion to money power they have become increasingly politically correct with Dave's postruings on LGBT issues, feminism, racism and all the other obligatory isms now entrenched in modern Britain. Mainly because there's money in it, nameley the much trumpeted "Pink Pound". They can be safely "homophobic" in the privacy of their clubs and as long as Alan Duncan and others are not quaffing a fine claret nearby.

In the light of this, the Conservative right has met with their old class war enemies to plan on how to attack the new boy on the block, the BNP, which threatens the status quo. They could of course rely on their media allies to press home continually an assortment of myths, diatribes and slurs reminiscent ironically of the best of Joseph Goebbels. It really began when a dripping wet Tory started (with obvious collusion and assistance from other quarters) the Nothing British campaign to attack the BNP from a "right wing" perspective.

Some brain then decided that the recent recruit to the Tory party General Dannatt could be used as a front man to portray the BNP in a bad light from the military perspective. Of course Dannatt like practically all senior officers at the top of Britain's military is a Tory at heart, after all it is the party of the establishment.

They have cited rightly the considerable service and loyalty of many colonial troops throughout the years of the British Empire, a fact that has always been recognised by the BNP, particularly the unique contribution of the Gurkhas. Ironically a forged leaflet pretending to show opposition to the pro-Ghurka campaign fronted by Joanna Lumley was widely distributed by far left activists in the run up to the EU election. A forgery it most certainly was, but that didn't stop the media particularly The Sun and The Mirror, from using the "story". An apology was issued by the papers concerned. After the election.

But let us be absoultely clear about these senior officers. Like their well heeled contempories in civvy street, their experience of everyday life and the lives of ordinary soldiers are well removed from reality. In the same way a successfull Tory businessman will say like young Mr Grace from Are You Being Served? to his staff "You've all done very well!" and then retire to Simpson's in the Strand for lunch while the employees enjoy a curled up sandwich in the staff canteen.

They have no experience of the consequences of mass immigration, its effect on jobs, and the overall impact on so many communities in the UK. Critics will cite the distinguished former SAS soldier Andy McNab. He's not top brass, and has served in the front line they'll parrot, what about him.  Indeed he has, with great courage and loyalty, alongside ethnic minority soldiers as well. But he is not politically savvy, otherwise he would realise that noone dishonours the commendable bravery and loyalty of all our servicemen and women, regardless of colour.

We are talking about the scale of immigration and its effects which is a completely different issue. The only party that really addresses the issue is the BNP and that's who they've got to demonise. Many ex-servicemen and current servicemen support the party despite the rebuttals of the out of touch generals. I know I've met many of them, including a former Spitfire pilot and member of the SAS.

The establishment is clearly worried and the scale of the incessant onslought against the BNP merely reinforces just what a threat they see the party is. But of course the combined aim of the establishment is to ensure that its political wing the Lib/Lab/Con consensus continues, with the very same policies that have wrecked Britain's economy, destroyed the moral and social fabric of the country and plunged us into a time scale akin the the impending collapse of the once great Roman Empire. Whether Nick Griffin performs well on Question Time remains to be seen, if of course the baying mob of the far left don't use their fascistic tactics to stop him attending or the event taking place.

For he might come out with some home truths, reinforcing the fears of the far left who wish to "smash him" and the old gang parties who want to stumble on with their cosy little club in charge, with the rest of us paying the price.
