Not worth becoming a moslem for Simon.

Now I did not know that Simon Cowell was planning to get married.  I have watched a few of his shows out of curiosity and found them not to my liking, I also watched a documentary about him and decided that he would not be the kind of person whose company I would choose but when I read that he had got engaged, I thought "So What.  Who Cares".

Well his future in-laws care and they care big time, because they are moslems.  Showing just how well moslems are prepared to integrate with the civilised world they have stated that they want over inflated Simon to convert to Islam before he marries Mezhgan Hussainy - who to me seems to come across as a very determined little gold digger from Afghanistan.  There is no fool like an old fool Simon and I should know.

They're very westernised, but no one in their family has ever married a non-Muslim - and they're not willing for their youngest daughter to become the first,'

Now Mezhgan is no child. At 36 she has been around the block a bit and so in a normal world it should be for her to decide who she marries but personally I would not want to marry a person with such a weak will who would convert to a religion just to get into my underpants.

So this is still a non-story until we reach the final paragraph of the article at the source of this story.

Simon might be a big deal in the UK, but there are other people in the Afghan community in Los Angeles who her parents will be more afraid of offending. It would bring shame on their family and community if Simon did not respect their beliefs,' the friend added.

Hold it right there.  There is the line that changed things - "more afraid of offending".  When moslems talk of "afraid of offending" they mean afraid for their lives and physical safety and this celebrity wedding, if it takes place will  make the family very high profile.

I suspect that Simon will (hopefully) live to regret his choice of bride because if he should reject Islam and Mezhgan still consents to marry him, then there is the rock.  If he does reject Islam (as he should do if he is normal) and Mezhgan refuses to marry him, then there is the hard place.  Simon has gone and got himself caught in an Islamic nut cracker.  What would his mother say?
