BIGGEST HEIST IN HISTORY OR 'JUST A MISTAKE'?
What did you do with it Gordon?
Brown's sale of OUR Gold when he got his grubby paws on it as Chancellor, lost this country £7Billion at today's prices.
It's common knowledge of course that Brown did this, but I guess it isn't too common knowledge that the decision was taken between him and Ed Golden Balls, to make the biggest plunder of British Gold, ever to have been recorded, yet they deliberately didn't bother consulting top bankers.
I remember the late Sir 'Eddie' George was Governor of the Bank of England at the time, and he is said to have had 'misgivings' of the sale, yet fell seriously ill and later died, and as far as can fathom, he never wrote a damn thing about it but I bet he gave his sentiments to someone about this giant rip off of British Gold reserves by Brown.
Well it's back in the news again today following 4 years worth of requests under the Freedom of Information Act by the Daily Telegraph.
The Information Commissioner has finally decided to order the government to release information about the sale and to do so within 35 days. i.e. Before the election.
I expect to hear the Tory front bench wittering on about this of course and trying to take the Pulitzer Prize for Political Gain on the back of the Telegraph's efforts like they do, so watch out for the Govt's reply as to why these pirates swapped 400 metric tonnes of our precious metal (the only real valuable item in Britain), for a heap of paper, when other countries were swapping their heaps of worthless and diminishing Fiat currency for GOLD.
Needless to say, we have a lot less than we once did, and I for one would like to see what answers they come back with.
As for the future, well who can say what value our reserves will be, but you know when it comes down to it, I guess the LibLabCon can always go begging to the IMF again like last time, or they can just tax the people a whole lot more to get us out of the mess they put us in whilst working the economy under the present system which permits pirates to steal our Gold.
My wish would be for a crew of bravehearted men to step forward, cast their vessels with vigorous speed, hoist the Red Ensign and Union Jack, and go get it back again of course, if, and only if, we ever find the reason for this sale was in fact robbery and another deceit by Brown and his Marxist minions, who's common bent is surely to rob Britain blind of any of its real value including our ability to call ourselves English sailors.
