Abertilleryroom

The snow had just stopped falling and it was bitterly cold when I walked up from Moon-base Bravo to the agreed rendezvous point, to be picked up by the former rally driver, BNP activist and fellow Green Arrow writer, John of Gwent.  As usual JOG was on time - he is always on time.  We should all try to be on time.  Nothing worse than standing in the cold waiting for someone who is running 30 minutes late.

In less than an hour we had reached our destination and parked up very near to the venue in Abertillery, Gwent where the evenings BNP Gwent Fund-raising meeting was taking place.  From our vantage point on the side of the valley we could look down on the car-park where we knew BNP activists would be redirecting fellow members, supporters and hopefully new members to the correct location.  I did not envy those redirectors their job.  As I said, it was bitterly cold.

Arriving at the venue I was pleased to see that South Wales BNP security were already in place and felt slightly ashamed as I looked at their highly polished shoes and then looked down at my scuffed boots. Not seen a shine on boots like theirs since I left the forces. Top men those guys and I will mention them again later in this long report.

AbertilleryBrian

Brian Mahoney

Inside and armed with a pint of beer, there was just enough to time to wave to a few familiar faces in the crowd of about 50 people before the meeting was kicked off by Brian Mahoney the Wales Regional Organiser.  Another top man is Brian.  Ex-Serviceman, intelligent, presentable and articulate.  He would make a good candidate for any recruitment poster.  I have much admiration for the man.

After Brian had read the riot act about behaviour and mobile phones he warmed up the room by asking a series of questions about which politicians and cronies of the Establishment  had made real "racist" and hostile statements against not just the British National Party but also the True British People.  It was very very good and I must remember to write about it.  Brian then handed over to the first and main speaker of the evening, Mr James Whittall the BNP'S Midlands Deputy Regional Organiser.

AbertilleryJames

James Whittall

So what about this James Whittle?  What were my first impressions?  Excellent.  Another credit to the British National Party and very very articulate.  Any Englishman who can walk into a pub full of Welshmen and grab their attention from the first sentence must be good, very good and I for one am thankful that he took time out to travel to South Wales and give us his speech, he was in fact magic.  If you cannot wait to see the video of James speaking in Abertillery (which was of course filmed by South Wales BNP camera crew) you can go here and view several of Jame's earlier speeches.

After his speech, James answered questions from the audience and I was pleased to see an elderly local businessman, who I believe, if my memory serves correct used to be a firm labour supporter and former councillor, get up and ask some questions relevant to the local area and how the BNP could resolve these problems were they in power.  You just know that the BNP are advancing in support when you get such a large turnout in what used to be the Labour heartland.  Not so many years ago it would have been Rorkes Drift all over again.  Now people pat you on the back when you say you are BNP.  Interesting times and something I have waited and worked for over 30 years for.

The next speaker was a young Gwent activist by the name of John Powell.  Immaculately turned out, he spoke from a very well researched speech (that he held in rock steady hands) on the subject of Human Rights and Political Correctness - I see a great future for this young man and we should all be heartened by the fact that there are such capable young bloods cutting their teeth and ready to replace the old guard when it is their time to retire from front line duties.  So good was his speech that I approached him afterwards and asked if he would be kind to send in an article on the subjects he spoke about and am pleased to say he kindly agreed.

Next up was another Gwent activist,  Keith Jones who spoke from the heart about why he had joined the BNP.  Now Keith, I could see at a glance was my kind of guy.  Genuine, honest and open.  I look forward to perhaps meeting him for a beer one day.  He reminded me a bit of BNP Councillor Russ Green.

Talking of BNP Councillors (bless em all), I should put this in before I forget.  Also sat in the audience was BNP Councillor Kevin Edwards who is the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Aberavon, as well as being a true patriot I am proud to call him friend.  Well not even friends escape the Green Arrow and I am very pleased to say that Kevin has agreed to given an interview for the Voice of the British Resistance show that is broadcast every Sunday at 0900 GMT and that recently broadcast an interview with the previously mentioned Councillor Russ "Shandy" Green.

AbertilleryMike

Man of the Match - Mike Green

Finally the last speaker of the evening was one of the famous Welsh Musketeers and Deputy West Wales Organiser Mike Green, who is another man I admire greatly.  This retired police Detective made for me perhaps the best speech of the evening about what it means to be a part of the BNP and how he felt the British People had been betrayed.  I can honestly say that in all my years and in all of the the speeches that I have ever listened to, Mike Green's speech is the only one ever to bring tears to my eyes.

Now I said earlier I would mention the BNP Security men again and so here goes.  As soon as Mike returned to his seat, there was a break and I spoke to one of our security chaps who are rock hard men and mentioned the effect Mike's speech had had upon me.  This big mountain of a man laughed and stated that as security, they could not show emotion before confessing to having to leave the room for a few minutes to compose himself.  Nothing wrong if a man has a tear in private but not in public.  Not done you see, especially in Wales.

Well the raffle was done. The excellent buffet consumed.  Donations made and the result announced.  I do not have the correct figure but I do know that it was well in excess of over £2000 which is not bad for an impoverished part of Wales that is being starved of cash in order for our government to help fund the Indian Space Programme.

So there you have it.  All in all, the organisers of the event, Anthony along with John King the Gwent Fund holder did a great job.  Well done those men.

There is much more to tell you but that will be in a follow up article today, so come back and check out the site later.
