The picture above is a screen shot taken from Today's Court News UK which records the outcomes of various Court Cases around the country (if you click on the link you will probably have to hunt for the story in question, as it moves down the thread as new cases are added)  The one I have ringed relates to a case today in Whitechapel where three young Asian men were spared prison after blaming alcohol for an attack on a young white couple.  This was despite the fact that they screamed "White faggot" as they launched their unprovoked attack.

Excuse me for being pernickety but doesn't that count as a double hate crime, given that it involves both racist and homophobic abuse?.  I suspect that it it would certainly have been treated as one had three young white men attacked a black or Asian man screaming "Black faggot", and I would not rate their chances of escaping prison even if they claimed they were pi$$ed.

Despite a lengthy search, I am unable to trace any record of this case been reported elsewhere, which is another example of how differently the case would have been handled had the races been reversed.
