Another Stealth Tax is added to the list
A little something caught my eye this morning while I was wandering round the BBC News Web Site.
For some time now the establishment has propped up its coffers through imposing a £15 "Victim Surcharge" on any fine imposed by the court. Not that this goes to the "victim" you understand any more than Road Fund Licence went towards funding roads.
And the wizard wheezers in the joke justice department have decided it would be a bloody good idea to extend the tax take by adding a similar penalty to all fixed penalty notices "as these are not victimless crimes".
Gordon Brown's apologists have denied this is a stealth tax.
Yeah Right.
