Traditional Welsh Chapel

Years ago when I was a child living in the valleys, every year one of the biggest events was the annual Church and Chapel parades.  A valley with the chapels and churches at the bottom was a good geographical location for this kind of thing.

Starting at the top of the Valley, the First chapel/church congregation would set off marching down the valley with everyone dressed in their finest.  As they passed other chapels, the congregations of those would join the parade singing hymns.  Eventually the now large parade would arrive at the last chapel within in their area, there would be an open air service, food and a good time would be add by all.  In those days chapels and churches had congregations but then in those days they had real religious leaders and not political clowns like the Archbishop of Wales, Barry Morgan preaching.

Now most of the chapels and churches have gone. Beautiful buildings demolished, turned into Mosques, homes and store rooms.  Internet sites that specialise in selling former chapels and churches are common on the internet because the new age priests speak drivel from the pulpits.

In Cardiff, another old Presbyterian chapel is now a mosque, attracting packed congregations. "It is a magnificent building," said the Imam, Sheikh Said Ismail, "and it has not been changed at all apart from the installation of the carpet which we need for our religion, and the sign outside. We have very large congregations attending this mosque."

The Archbishop of Wales though, is not concerned about the decline in congregations or vanishing Christian values.  Archbishop Barry as he likes to be addressed, is more interested in playing at politics when not playing golf, finds it far more interesting to attack the British National Party and its members, many of whom are true Christians who still believe in the Gospels.

“I really do object to their claim to represent Christian cultural values. Unless you’re white and Anglo-Saxon you don’t seem to count for very much.

“That runs totally against any Christian understanding of humanity where we believe each person is made in the image of God.”

The Archbishop tends to forget that the role of a shepherd is to look after the well-being of his flock and Archbishop Barry has clearly failed in that duty, in fact his flock as fled.  I have nothing but contempt for the man and his "new religion".

Christian values are the bedrock of Western Civilization be you a believer or not.  The time for "turning the other cheek" is over.  Now is the time for an "eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth".
