Where have all the Coffins gone?
Wootton Bassett Honours Our Fallen
First off, like the BNP I totally believe that our troops should be brought home from Afghanistan immediately. We will not go into the real reasons why they are fighting and dying there with one hand tied behind their backs at the moment. I just want you to consider this.
As at 7 April 2010, a total of 281 British forces personnel or MOD civilians have died while serving in Afghanistan since the start of operations in October 2001.
Of these, 248 were killed as a result of hostile action.
The information above comes from the Ministry of Defence Fact sheet: Operations in Afghanistan: British Fatalities. Now scroll down the page and have a look at the recent fatalities of those brave soldiers. Deaths, almost as regular as clockwork, until the 7th of April and then thankfully no more.
Yet it seemed just a short while ago that there was yet another "Repatriation" of yet another dead hero passing through Wootton Bassett in an almost a weekly affair. But in the run up to the General Election we have seen none. I find this strange.
Have our boys out there defeated the enemy?
Have the moslems stopped fighting and now hiding in the mountains?
Have there been fatalities we do not know about or will not learn about until after the elections?
Or have the government ordered troops to desist activities until after the General Elections, knowing that the war is deeply unpopular and that the British National Party have made it the main issue during the general election?
This needs looking into.
