I see that almost every blog under the sun and indeed The Sun rag itself are running the "story" that Nick Griffin MEP and chairman of the patriotic British National Party is to be stripped of his degree by Cambridge's governing body.

Now I may well be wrong but I am wondering if all these bloggers and the rag Sun have been caught out in an April Fools day hoax, as the first reference to the story I can find, comes from The Tab, which is a Cambridge based site run by students that published it on All Fools Day.  Say no more.

Either way, the story has provided lots of excellent publicity for the British National Party, with countless comments posted in support of the BNP chairman.

Yet again, The Sun rag shoots another toe off and saves the BNP a fortune in paid advertising.  Thank you Sun - your a brick.  A thick brick.

The Sun as pulled the story and the BNP site posts that it was in fact an hoax.
