The following has been copied from Soldiers of the Street.

Public Statement to Lord James Bethell and Maurice Cousins. (The Conservative Home and Nothing British).

Although Soldiers off the street (S.O.T.S) is a non political charitable organisation, with no political ties there are people that will be named in this statement that run the Conservative Home and Nothing British sites that are spreading malicious and scandalous lies.

Both sites also have links through the Conservative Party with hate organisations such as the SWP/UAF and the communist run Searchlight organisations.

We also have evidence that the Unite Union have been sending hate e-mails to people with links on our website and we believe that the Nothing British site are directly responsible with their incitement to hatred against Soldiers off the Street.

You will see as you go through this statement, what we have had to put up with whilst trying to help homeless ex-service personnel and how the named sites have turned charities against us with their poison so we could not function.

This makes us wonder what their motives are. Are they trying to stop us bringing to light just how serious the plight of the homeless ex-service personnel are or is there a more sinister plot unfolding?

Whatever the reason, they are clearly showing their total disregard for our lost and forgotten heroes.

Firstly I would like to explain to all those that do not know, that I was for many years a member and official of the British National Party and carried out a lot of work for their Chairman Nick Griffin MEP and the Party.

I am proud of the work I carried out and have made a lot of friends and met a lot of good people across the United Kingdom.

However, over the last few years, I have been reading a lot in the media about homeless ex-service personal and also witnessed it for myself on the streets and felt I had to do something to help in some way, however small.

Having spoken to a few members, friends and officials about what I was planning to do, I informed the party that I had no choice but to resign as I felt that politics and charitable work did not go together.

On resigning I had a word with Mr Griffin and he assured me that he understood and wished me luck and asked if I needed any help. I informed him of what I thought about politics and charitable work not going together, Mr Griffin agreed with my sentiments and understood and wished me and Soldiers off The Street good luck.

We had decided on the name Soldiers off the Street (S.O.T.S), designed a website, registered a limited company by guarantee non profit company, moved into our offices then work on getting it charity status.

All very good so far or so it should have been but no our troubles had just begun as I will explain.

First we got this letter from a Maurice Cousins working with Nothing British (An anti-BNP site that was acting on behalf of the conservative Party).

I will answer their questions as we go through their communication.

Dear Mr Murray,

Clarification of issues concerning Soldiers off the Street.

In your statement released through the "Green Arrow" web site on the 7th October 2009 (http://www.thegreenarrow.co.uk/index.php/writers/arrow-straight/303-soldiers-off-the-street-and-nothing-british) you say that on Friday 2nd October 2009 "false statements" were made about you and SOTS via our blog (http://www.nothingbritish.com/10/nb-reports-new-bnp-front-to-charities-commission/). According to the statement, you set up SOTS after leaving the British National Party and that you have never hidden the fact that you are a former member of the BNP.

I sent my statement by request to Green Arrow as the owner is a friend and he would not twist what I had to say. We have done no wrong by not mentioning the British National Party as Soldiers off the Street has no connection with the BNP. Plus why should I answer these interfering nobodies.

The statement also says that all of these facts could have been clarified if we had contacted SOTS prior to making our announcement, which indeed we did so via telephone (on the 14th September 2009 and 23rd September 2009).

The only telephone conversation I had with these people was with them lying about being a donator with a false name asking why we were not a registered charity. I explained we had to meet the charity commissions criteria but were working on it.

Some questions that we feel need clarifying: I am answering these questions here for you the public to judge Soldiers off the street for yourselves.

You state that you set up SOTS when you left BNP what was the actual date of your resignation from the party? I cannot remember the exact date but I had to fulfil my obligations as an official.

How did you resign from your membership of the BNP? (Telephone, email or letter?) Their arrogance is starting to show. But for the record, by Telephone and email.

Have you applied to become a charity? Not until the Charity Commissions criteria is met. Now their ignorance is showing.

Are you a member of any other organisations associated with the BNP? This one is simple. NO.

When were you last in touch with the BNP? When I fulfilled my obligations about two or three weeks after my resignation.

When was the last time you were in contact with Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP, or other senior members of the party including Brian Mahoney, regional organiser in Wales, and Simon Darby, deputy leader?

Not since my resignation but I will talk to whoever I like, maybe they would like to let us know their last contact with their friend in prison Alister Cooling the convicted paedophile http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/news/Reality-TV-star-jailed-downloading-illegal-child-porn-movies/article-1532579-detail/article.html

They are denying they knew him but see for yourself http://conservativehome.blogs.com/cfdiary/2007/08/alister-cooling.html questions should be asked whether the Conservative Home and Nothing British is a front for a paedophile ring?

What efforts have you made to recruit volunteers outside of the BNP arena? See website and Face Book group.

Further questions on the suitability of SOTS and its role as a carer for vulnerable veterans.

How many medically qualified staff do you have working at SOTS? Changes as and when we get volunteers. We did have 25 surgeries until Nothing British started their incitement to hatred campaign against Soldiers off the street.

How many ex-servicemen have you have working at SOTS?

Changes as and when we get volunteers. Once again see Face Book you would be surprised. I am not giving you anyone's name for you to publish and help you with your incitement to hatred campaign against Soldiers off the street.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email and I look forward to hearing your response.

Once again why should we answer these interfering nobodies who seem to be drunk with their own importance?

Yours sincerely,
Maurice Cousins

They also reported Soldiers off the street to the Charities Commission and Trading Standards. I welcome any investigation by the Charities Commission and Trading Standards as this would put these libellous and slanderous accusations where they belong, in the trash.

The Charities Commissions response taken from the communist Lancaster Unity site are e-mailing anyone with a link on our site thanks to Nothing British. Nothing British has not published the Charities Commissions letter to them?

A Charity Commission spokesperson said: "The Charity Commission is aware of the press coverage regarding Nothing British about the BNP's report, Stolen Valour, in which the Commission is mentioned. We have obtained a copy of the report and will be responding directly to Nothing British on the points that they have raised.

"Charities should usually seek to maximise their income. However, in some circumstances trustees may decide that it would not be in the best interests of their charity to accept a donation, if this would damage the charity's reputation or its ability to do its good work would be compromised. Trustees should be able to demonstrate how and why they have made any such decision and the Commission is happy to advise in such cases.

"There is nothing in charity law that prohibits members of a political party from establishing and/or being the trustee of a charity. However, no charity can have political purposes or support a political party. All trustees must act only in the charity's best interests and must not represent the interests of any outside organisation or their own personal interests. To do otherwise would be a breach of trust.

"'Soldiers off the Street' is not a registered charity, and must not claim to be a registered charity. We have not received any application to register from an organisation by that name. Any application to register as a charity would be considered in line with the registration criteria as set out on our website. In order to register, charities must be established for exclusively charitable purposes for the public benefit and must not have any political purpose."

Here are some of the things we have put up with and the organisations and people involved.

Conservative Home and Nothing British.
Lord James Bethell.
Tim Montgomerie.
Maurice Cousins.
James Howarth.

These four started this hate campaign against Soldiers off the street led by Lord James Bethell with no consideration for the homeless ex-service personnel we are trying to help.
Bethell
James Bethell the man that would rather close us down then help the lost and forgotten heroes but it must be easy when you live in a Manor House in Wiltshire.

They keep insisting they have evidence against myself and Soldiers off the street but never present it to support up the lies they write.

They are intimidating anyone that has links on our site so that we have no help with any homeless ex-service personnel that we try to help.

The one thing that we cannot understand is why anyone believes them without any evidence to substantiate what they say.

Is it because Bethell is a lord and they are frightened of him?

Well I say here and now you do not frighten me Bethell. To me you are just a spoilt brat that jumps up and down when you do not get your own way.

Now it is time for you to either put up or shut up. Publish all of your evidence against me and Soldiers off the street immediately or remove the lies you have published about myself and Soldiers off the street.

I do not want an apology from you it would only make me sick.

Just stop you're lying and remove us from your site and stop sending e-mails and phone calling as it is now beginning to look like harassment.

Other organisations that have been incited by Lord James Bethell's allegations and lies.

UAF: Nothing British lies is on their site.

Searchlight: Nothing British lies is on their site.

WARF: Nothing British lies is on their site and they sent the papers to our office in Wrexham http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/80612/man-says-wrexham-charity-not-a-front-for-the-bnp.aspx

We were also reported to the Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/questions-over-former-bnp-members-help-for-exsoldiers-1808083.html Also the Times investigated me and found that there was no story to publish.

Now we have a more sinister twist with the Unite Union.

A hate e-mail was sent from Unite at Milbank house London and came via there outbox proxy servers from a James Lynch in the educational support unit of that union. This we are handing other to the police we have had enough.

Bill Murray,
Soldiers off the street (S.O.T.S)
