You have to admire Christiane Chocat, a French Councillor, who clearly felt that one of the best ways to help get rid of illegal immigrants in France was actually help smuggle them into the UK and earn a lot of money at the same time.

When arrested she was remanded in custody and is currently being held at state-of-the-art prison HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, Middlesex.

However it seems that the French Councillor is having a great time at British Taxpayers expense, her husband said his wife was adjusting well to life in an English Jail.  From what I have read, so could I and millions of other old age  pensioners.

“She said it was like Club Med”, he revealed, referring to the French ­holiday firm which organises package deals to exotic resorts.

Mr Chocat said he had received a letter from his wife. He said: “She is being well looked after” and is ­“bearing up well”. He added: “She has even had a ­manicure.”

In case you are thinking that the new conservative government that is lurching towards us, would be any tougher on criminals think again.  They want charities to take over the running of prisons. 

Mad Maude a current shadow minister said, for all the wrong reasons, that the prison system was a "disgrace".  And so it is, the convicts have to pay sky high prices for their smuggled in drugs, phone cards and other luxuries.  Sometime the queues for manicures(due to French Councillors getting priority) are just so long that some inmates give up and retire back to their on-suite rooms to watch Sky TV instead.  Expect compensation claims for split nails to soar.
