You see it is a bit different to us Britons, we do not take kindly to having Our Country occupied and the fact that currently, the colonisers now control Our Capital City is neither here nor there.  We have lost a battle, we have not lost a war.  We will take it back.

But will the French retake Paris? Who can tell or will they just grow more trees so the moslems can pray in the shade.
